From Retail Space to Regional Destination

Design

Some projects are about growth.

Others are about transformation.

It Started With a Vision—Not a Venue

Before there were skates on the ice…
Before there were families in the stands…
Before there were games, practices, and events…

There was an empty space.

A former retail anchor.

And a vision:

To create something Tulsa didn’t have.

Not just an ice rink.
Not just a sports facility.

A multi-purpose destination built for:

  • Athletes
  • Families
  • Events
  • Community

That vision became WeStreet Ice Center.

A 140,000-square-foot facility designed to bring together sport, entertainment, and community under one roof.

The Challenge: You’re Not Just Marketing a Facility, You’re Creating a Destination

This wasn’t a typical project.

There was no “existing perception” to tweak.

No outdated brand to refresh.

This was something entirely new.

And with that comes a different challenge:

  • How do you position a multi-use facility?
  • How do you communicate everything it offers without overwhelming people?
  • How do you turn curiosity into foot traffic?

Because WeStreet Ice Center isn’t one thing.

It’s many things:

  • Two NHL-sized ice rinks
  • Youth and adult hockey leagues
  • Public skating
  • Events and parties
  • A full-service sports bar
  • Arcade, simulators, and entertainment spaces

If you don’t communicate that clearly…

You lose people.

The Opportunity: Build a Hub, Not Just a Brand

This is where Alchemy Marketing thrives.

Because this wasn’t about marketing a single service.

It was about building a central hub for activity, energy, and community.

From the beginning, our role was to help define:

  • What WeStreet Ice Center is
  • Who it serves
  • How it fits into Tulsa’s landscape
  • And how to make it feel like a must-visit destination

Because when you’re building something this big…

Clarity is everything.

The Strategy: Turning a Facility Into an Experience

This wasn’t just branding.

This was experience design at scale.

1. Positioning: More Than an Ice Rink

We didn’t position WeStreet as “a place to skate.”

We positioned it as:

A place to gather. A place to experience. A place to come back to.

Because the moment you reduce it to just ice…

You limit its potential.

2. Multi-Audience Messaging Strategy

One of the biggest challenges?

This facility serves everyone:

  • Families looking for weekend activities
  • Kids learning to skate or play hockey
  • Adult leagues and recreational players
  • Corporate groups and private events
  • Sports fans watching games at Puck’s

So instead of one message…

We built a system that speaks to each audience, clearly and directly.

Because relevance drives action.

3. Digital Presence & Awareness Campaigns

For a facility of this scale, awareness is everything.

We implemented strategies designed to:

  • Drive local discovery
  • Highlight the variety of experiences
  • Promote events, leagues, and programming
  • Build consistent traffic over time

From public skate sessions to watch parties and youth programs, every offering needed visibility.

Because if people don’t know what’s happening…

They won’t show up.

4. Bridging Sports, Entertainment & Lifestyle

What makes WeStreet Ice Center different?

It’s not just about playing.

It’s about being there.

From:

  • Watching a game at Puck’s Sports Bar overlooking the rink
  • To hosting birthday parties and corporate events
  • To participating in leagues and training programs

We helped position the facility as a full lifestyle destination, not just a sports venue.

Because experiences create repeat visits.

5. Supporting a Larger Ecosystem

WeStreet Ice Center isn’t standalone.

It’s part of something bigger.

It serves as:

  • The official practice facility for the Tulsa Oilers
  • A home for youth and junior hockey programs
  • A training ground for athletes
  • A community hub for Northeast Oklahoma

Our role was to ensure the marketing reflected that scale.

Because this isn’t just a building.

It’s infrastructure for a growing sports ecosystem.

The Result: From Empty Space to Community Anchor

When everything aligns…

You don’t just open a facility.

You create impact.

WeStreet Ice Center quickly became:

  • A premier destination for ice sports in Tulsa
  • A hub for community events and gatherings
  • A driver of engagement, activity, and local pride

Even earning recognition for its role in strengthening the local sports community.

Because when you build something people connect with…

They come back.

The Bigger Lesson: Experiences Win in Today’s Market

The old model:

Build a facility → hope people use it

The new model:

Build an experience → give people a reason to return

WeStreet Ice Center is a perfect example of that shift.

Because today, people aren’t just looking for activities.

They’re looking for:

  • Experiences
  • Environments
  • Places to spend time

And when you deliver that…

You don’t just get visitors.

You get loyalty.

This Is How We Build

At Alchemy Marketing, we don’t just promote spaces.

We build strategies that turn them into destinations.

Systems that:

  • Drive awareness
  • Increase engagement
  • Create repeat traffic
  • And scale long-term growth

Because whether it’s a brand, a franchise, or a facility…

The goal is the same:

Make it matter.

Final Thought: Transformation Creates Opportunity

Most projects start with something.

This one started with space.

And that’s what made it powerful.

Because when you combine:

Vision + strategy + execution

You don’t just fill a building.

You create a destination.
